The enamel on your teeth is some of the toughest tissue in your body, but its still vulnerable to chipping and even breaking. If you have a chipped or broken tooth, you should see a dentist as soon as possible.

Treatment for a chipped or cracked tooth will depend on how severely it is damaged. If only a small piece of enamel broken off the repair can usually be done simply in on visit.  A badly damaged or broken tooth may require a more lengthy and specialised procedure.

The cause of a broken or chipped tooth can vary, from trauma like a knock to the face or biting down on something hard or even just grinding or clenching your teeth (bruxism).
